Didn't love this. Really weird.

At best, for me, it was a 3 out of 5 stars.

I‘m seeing a lot of so so reviews for this one, but about 100 pages in and I am hooked. So unless something happens I‘ll be giving this a pick! I even preordered Leno‘s next book because this ones got me so wrapped into the story!

"Everybody has a reason to want to change their lives" Magpie has some of the best. I love how it ended feeling complete. I liked Magpie as a character and her new group of outcast friends. I was blown away by the topics covered and the way they were talked about from transgendered characters to sexual abuse were elegantly addressed. I recommend this to anyone who loves sci-fi and contemporary mashups while dealing with grand scale issues.

This book was weird but I loved it! It‘s one of those books that you have to read for yourself.

*My HS book club received free copies of this to read from @lbschool Hmm... this is fantasy but yet most of it is realistic fiction.
I needed to suspend reality and just give myself over to the story. It definitely was like nothing I've read before with the dashes of fantasy and horror tossed in an otherwise normal HS girl story! I say 3/5 ⭐️
