“Yet here is a race without past, without tradition, and yet not without poetry -but a poetry whose quality I know well, harsh, carnal, far from tenderness, that of their very sky, the only one in truth to move me and being me inner peace.”

Photo taken during my lunch break. Look at that beautiful sky! I sincerely fear for the day we‘ve exhausted Earth‘s resources and images like this become only memories.

“What exceptional quality do the fugitive Algerian evenings possess to be able to release so many things in me? I haven‘t time to tire of that sweetness they leave on my lips before it has disappeared into night. Is this the secret of its persistence? This country‘s affection is overwhelming and furtive. But during the moment it is present, one‘s heart at least surrenders completely to it.”

Faibka @Tamra I‘m starting to realize what great ambassadors writers are for their home country. The way Camus describes it makes you feel like you‘re there and he‘s able to convey a special sort of longing to be there. I tried to find a photo that would match his words 6y
Faibka @BarbaraBB yes :) photo is not mine, I forgot to add the web source and then couldn‘t find it again. 6y
BarbaraBB @Faibka It looks like 1,001 nights. Such a mysterious country. I hardly know anything about it! 6y
