This is a journey that began in many places. It began in Kansas, home of Baracks mother. It began in Africa, home of Baracks father. It began in Hawaii one moonlit night, the night that Barack was born. Sometimes it was a lonely journey. Sometimes it was an enchanted journey. But throughout this most unusual ride, this boy often wondered: Who am I? Where do I belong? Jonah Winter and AG Ford re-create the extraordinary story behind the rise of Americas first African-American president, Barack Obama, in this stunning picture book.

This book is a children‘s biography book about Barack Obama. This book would be a great book for an IR or a read aloud. This book can be read during election times or Presidents Day. #ucflae3414f19

This is a great resource and a lt of information can be found here.

Erinehart A URL strategy that would be appropriate for this text is 3.1 “activate or supply background knowledge” doing so will allow the students do know about the person before they read. 5y
Erinehart An ESOL strategy that I would use for this text is #16. “Integrate speaking, listening, reading and writing activities”. This allows the students to grasp the text a little bit more than just hearing it. 5y
DrSpalding Biographies are absolute must for your classroom library. Check out the ESOL strategy that specifically mentions this genre. (edited) 4y
