pickMatriarch Mrs. Emerson is so set in her ways, she drives her kids crazy. Then she hires an eccentric handywoman who shakes up everyone‘s world. I can see why the house is filled with clocks ticking away & telling all different times. It‘s the perfect metaphor for a family that‘s completely out of synch! I love Anne Tyler more after every book. She keeps me entertained & always guessing.
