My Friend Rabbit is a Caldecott award winner; MF book by Eric Rohmann. The story is about a Rabbit and his friend the Mouse. The Mouse is always getting in trouble, and the Rabbit always tries to help him. In the story, the Mouse plane got stuck in a tree, and Rabbit found many animals to get the plane; however, wherever Mouse goes, trouble follows. #UCFLAE3414SP21

StephanyNunez The story is excellent for Choral Reading (CR) because it is not too long; therefore, the students can practice expression and fluency. This strategy uses UDL principle 5.3 (Build fluency with graduated levels of support practice and performance.) The UDL connects with CR because the teacher models fluency and expression. #UCFLAE3414SP21 2y
StephanyNunez This way, struggling readers participate, and it also can improve students' vocabulary, fluency, and confidence. Review: My Friend Rabbit by Eric Rohmann, 2007, is a Caldecott Winner about a rabbit who saves the day after his friend lets him play with his brand new airplane! It has brilliant illustrations that take up more page than words, but help tell the story even more.
Blurb: I would use this in my classroom as a read aloud, there are many different characters and humor the students would enjoy it.

My friend rabbit: A picture book is a Caldecott honor book from 2002. This is a great book to have in class. It doesn't have a lot of words but the illustrations really speak for themselves. I love how some of the pages even are vertical, that is such a fun touch.

This F picture book is a great book to introduce the spring season, or animals, or friendship. IT is a friendship between a mouse and a rabbit, how far will you go for your friends? This is a great read for young readers trying to make friends. A lesson to follow up with this story could be for the students to come up with their own examples of going above for friendship. #ucflae3414f19

DrSpalding As you have noted, this would be a great book for teaching about the seasons. I like that you were thinking about how quality children‘s literature can be used in other content areas. Make sure you elaborate on your teaching strategies and principles/English learner strategies. 3y

My Friend Rabbit by Eric Rohmann, 2002. Caldecott Award Winning Book. This is such a great book for a read aloud! The pictures bring the story to life and each illustration leaves children wondering what will happen next. The book uses not much words which is great for sparking curiosity among children and guessing! The book even requires that some pages are turned vertically!

This would be a good book to use in a classroom to show that everyone is different, and just because they think differently, we still have to love our friends.

This award-winning picture book is great to use in the classroom with young children in it. It has few words and amazing pictures/illustrations. It teaches the lesson on how nobody is perfect and it's ok to make mistakes and still love your friends for it. The illustrations are great to use in the classroom for young children who may not know how to read yet or are just beginning to learn how to read.

This is a Caldecott Medal Award-winning book. It is mostly pictures and little words. The illustrations are amazing! I thought this book was super cute and a great short story for younger children. It teaches the lesson of loving your friends even when they make mistakes, and how everyone isn't perfect. Also a great illustration (picture) book!

This book is a Caldecott winner(pub.2002). More of a picture book than reading. Although there are some words within the book, it is more about the illustrations. The message of the book is nice and makes one think about friendships.
The illustrations are colorful, fun, and simple. They bring in a lot of animals throughout the book. I like the mouse always says “My friend Rabbit means well.“ I like this because Mouse always sticks up for Rabbit.

This book was cute, but not one of my favorites. The illustrations were cute, but I‘m not sure how much I liked it.
