Meet Yasmin! by Saadia Faruqi, illustrated by Hatem Aly, is a collection of four short early readers/chapter books. It features some amazing #ownvoices representation of a Pakistani-American girl as she goes on all sorts of adventures in her home, school, and town. Definitely recommended for anyone in need of an early reader with some great personality.

First Litsy post ever! My first book for @24in48 is this book, which was recommended to me by a fellow librarian. Can‘t wait to read it!

Yasmin is a young Pakistani American girl who dreams of being an explorer, loves art and engineering, and puts on a fashion show with her Nani. This young chapter book is fun, bright and entertaining.

The end of the book includes pronunciations for the Urdu words, questions for reflection, a recipe, and an art project. Very well done.
