An adorable non-fiction picture book about the Mars rover Curiosity?! Yes please. This is amazing. For the older picture book crowd, this so dang cutely illustrated book is full of information and interest. Plus, it is huge, which makes the pictures even better. Read it already.

This SF book written and illustrated by Markus Morin is a fact-filled book that is written through the perspective of the Mars rover Curiosity. In the book curiosity guides the reader through her journey on mars and her purpose for going there. Curiosity‘s “character” reminds me a lot of WALL-E! This would be an especially great book for students who are interested in space! Would use this as an LC choice using the following lesson plan from RWT:

Erothert http://www.readwritethink.org/classroom-resources/lesson-plans/textmasters-shaki... the strategy for LC‘s for this lesson would work well for this book. This lesson would meet UDL strategy 7.1 optimize individual choice and autonomy by providing students the opportunity to choose the book for LC and choose their role in the LC. It would meet ESOL standard 38. Assign short readings for homework. #ucflae3414sp18 6y
SierraC This character does remind me of Wall-E too! I think this would be an awesome addition to my classroom library :) (edited) 6y
Gabylaurel10 This is so cute! It gives me the Wall-E feel to me so you can make a connection to that for the kids! 6y
