I enjoyed this as far as you can enjoy quite dry ancient Greek writing translated by an academic. Interesting to see how constellation myths developed over the period, and how many versions of different myths there are layered on top of each other and what forms they‘ve survived in. Nemesis the goddess of retribution being behind the Trojan war as revenge for Zeus raping her is an excellent lost story - glad to see someone holding Zeus to account

I started reading Constellation Myths by Eratosthenes and Hyginus last night. It‘s fascinating how these myths came to be and how they‘re woven together and how some are additional tales tacked into Greek myths whilst others are completely new stories made for the stars. 💫 #greekmythology #classicsstudent #classicist #constellationmyths #classics #bookish #bookworm #bookblog #booklover #bookaddict #bibliophile
