Tales of Famous Heroes is a (B) by Peter and Connie Roop and Illustrated by Rebecca Zomchek. The Tales of Famous is about the biography of 25 heroes and their achievements. The biography is from the heroes of today and history. Adodd1 Using these books for an IR would be great, especially if they may use this book for resources for research! The link you provided showing the different strategies to support students is very helpful as well! 3y
DrSpalding This is a picture book biography, anthology. You can dip in and dip out of this book to read about significant men and women during social studies instruction. The English learner strategy is actually 28 rather than eight. 3y

By: Peter and Connie Roop- Biography
This is a great book to introduce children to when learning about important figures in our history who have made an impact! This book speaks about the accomplishments of our true leaders from then until today! 25 individuals are recognize through their dedication to others (very interpersonal!) This book can be used in the classroom in many ways- as a RA, LC(a small group can read and research more info about

AshleyC their Famous Hero), SR, GR! An individual and interpersonal activity the students can participate in is drawing their favorite hero writing a paragraph on why they find that person so interesting and what will they do to be a hero! 6y
AshleyC https://youtu.be/xnJD09cPWD8 is a video of a small glimpse of who Nelson Mandela was. Great video to start with for a little inspiration. 6y
AshleyC A UDL Strategy that can help with the understanding of the content of the book is 2.1- clarify vocabulary and symbols. An EL Strategy is number 43- have students underline or highlight key words or important facts in written assignment. 6y
Hervela.L I love your post on this particular black history book. I love your idea of introducing Nelson Mandela with a YouTube video. Also I love the activity of them drawing their favorite hero and writing a paragraph about it (edited) 6y
