Faerie Blood
Faerie Blood | Emma L. Adams
4 posts | 3 read | 1 reading | 3 to read
I'm Ivy Lane, and if I never see another faerie again, it'll be too soon. Twenty years after the faeries came and destroyed the world as we knew it, I use my specialist skills to keep rogue faeries in line and ensure humans and their magically gifted neighbours can coexist (relatively) peacefully. Nobody knows those skills came from the darkest corner of Faerie itself. When a human child disappears, replaced with a faerie changeling, I have to choose between taking the safe road or exposing my own history with the faeries to the seductively dangerous head of the Mage Lords. He's the exact kind of distraction I don't need, but it's work with him or lose my chance to save the victims. It'll take all my skills to catch the kidnappers and stop Faerie's dark denizens overrunning the city - but if the faerie lords find out about the magic I stole last time I went into their realm, running won't save me this time...

rabbitprincess I really like your TBR cleanup bingo cards! It looks like a fun way to help choose what to read next 😊 5y
TCLinrow @rabbitprincess it is 😊 it keeps me focused as well so I don't end up with dozens of books on the go (usually). And when i get to tick something off it feels really good 😎 5y

If my finishing it in under 24 hours isn't a give away... I really enjoyed this book!
The world was was built and perfect for the story, the magic system was pretty well formed and detailed.
At risk of sounding like a broken record - Ivy Lane was a badass! Mage Lord Vance Colton started out annoying, but grew on ke until I actually really liked him. Just wished it had more about Drake and Isabel!

I am really loving this book! Ivy is a real badass that I love a little more with every chapter, and Vance is proving a lot less annoying than first thought 😅

I like the way the fairies are explained as it goes along, considering most people in the book know of them but not about them, so it feels like you're a part of the world 😊

No idea why this book has so few ratings... it's a brilliant urban fantasy!

Listened to the first hour and a half so far and it's got a vibe like Born in Fire and I am so down for it! 😎
Ivy Lane is another sharp talking badass, but a PI specialised in magic and fairies instead of a bounty hunter. And in this world everyone knows about fairies and magic, rather than it being a secret (though they're hardly good guys) 🧚‍♂️🧚‍♀️

Looking forward to seeing where this goes 😊
