Such Dark Things: A Novel of Psychological Suspense | Courtney Evan Tate
3 posts | 2 read | 2 to read
A HORRIFIC RECURRING NIGHTMARE IS THREATENING TO STEAL HER SANITY Dr. Corinne Cabot is living the American dream. Shes a successful ER physician in Chicago whos married to a handsome husband. Together they live in a charming house in the suburbs. But appearances can be deceivingand what no one can see is Corinnes dark past. Troubling gaps in her memory mean she recalls little about a haunting event in her life years ago that changed everything. She remembers only being in the house the night two people were found murdered. Her father was there, too. Now her father is in prison; she hasnt been in contact in years. Repressing that terrifying memory has caused Corinne moments of paranoia and panic. Sometimes she thinks she sees things that arent there, hears words that havent been spoken. Or have they? She fears she may be losing her mind, unable to determine whats real and whats not. So when she senses her husbands growing distance, she thinks shes imagining things. She writes her suspicions off to fatigue, overwork, anything to explain what she cant acceptthat her life really isnt what it seems.

Book#3 of 2021! New author for me and I enjoyed it very much. Co and Jude have everything but Co is haunted by events of a Halloween night years ago! Strange things start happening, is she going crazy?

Rose‘ ✔️Key Lime Pie ✔️ Reading material ✔️Such Dark Things @courtneycolewrites #mirabooks I recently read I‘ll Be Watching You @courtneycolewrites and really enjoyed it. I wasn‘t even half way through when I ordered another book from her. This one sounds very intriguing. Based in Chicago, makes it extra fun to have a familiar setting.@people @firstmag Instagram at castrojeannette

⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had a hard time putting this book down. I liked the back and forth in tense and view point. It kept things interesting. The storyline was intriguing and, while I did figure out the twist, I was glad that the author continued the story so I felt a true sense of closure, if you will, with the ending.
