This Book was so creative and unique. If you love history, Egyptian Mythology, and the supernatural definitely read this book. It's no stereo typical story and will play on the strings of your heart.

Fascinating read. Even the historical note at the end was interesting! It follows the story of Cleopatra after Octavian/Augustus comes to power. It explores how far one will go for the person or kingdom they love.

"Everything is true. Once a story is told, it becomes true. Every unlikely tale, every tale of wonders, has something real at its core.

This book is probably not something I'd pick up on my own. I'm really enjoying it so far (about 130 pages to go)! This story moves in unexpexted ways. Though I am no expert about the time period, it feels well researched and dramatized. It has even inspired me to go as Cleopatra for Halloween. #BookRiotLive #Cleopatra #ReadingOutsideYourWheelhouse

am doing a deep-dive into Headley's work, and this was a gory romp of a retelling of Mark Antony and Cleopatra's final days. i say "romp" because as violent & dark as this book is (VERY), it is also a ton of fun to read once it gets going.

Keryntalia This is the only one of Headley's that I have read, and I enjoyed it a lot. Does her other work have the same Grand Guignol feel? Magonia is sitting on my shelf waiting for me to read it! 8y
jennirl @Keryntalia Magonia is fun and weird too but in a very different way -- a little more whimsy (AIRSHIPS) and less horror, i think. her other, END OF THE SENTENCE, is deeply scary & awesome. 8y
