Boring cover, but I‘m pretty enthused about my latest homeschool acquisition. My favorite part is the pronunciation key & historical context blurb before each chapter. (I swear this is for my kids...)

emilyhaldi Part of the homeschooling fun must be relearning things yourself! 🤓 6y
saresmoore @Moray_Reads We use as many “living books” as we can. One good story will send us on an epic learning tangent. It‘s so much fun. 6y
saresmoore @emilyhaldi Or as is often the case, learning it for the first time! My education was preeeeetty lacking, turns out. 6y
Leftcoastzen That looks pretty cool! 6y
saresmoore @Notafraidofwords Absolutely. They have freedom to learn through play, run outside, explore the actual world around them, follow their learning passions, learn more practical life skills, and get much more intentional/valuable time with fellow kids and adults alike! School tended to squelch their imaginations and joy for learning and they were tired all the time. Now, they are energetic and happy, eager to learn and try things. 6y
saresmoore @Leftcoastzen I‘m always a bit leery of 30-year-old books by educated white dudes, but his approach seems solid! 🙃🙂 6y
Leftcoastzen @saresmoore I hear you on that. 6y
Notafraidofwords @saresmoore I can totally understand. My niece is in pre-K and is always so tired. 6y
LeahBergen Eeee! I‘m so excited for you guys! I remember when I first started delving into the Greek myths as a kid and I became OBSESSED. 6y
Moray_Reads @saresmoore and isn't that why we read? ♥️♥️ 6y
emilyhaldi I was going to say learn for the first time, but thought perhaps that was just me 😆😆 6y
saresmoore @emilyhaldi When I got to college and started the honors humanities courses, I remember thinking, where did these kids learn so much?! I still feel like I‘m behind! 6y
saresmoore @LeahBergen Ooh, I‘m excited! Lucy has loved the bits of mythology she‘s picked up here and there. I‘m hoping I can lure Ellie in with the siren song. 😊 6y
Suet624 I‘m so happy you all are so much happier. 6y
batsy Very cool! I'm so excited for your girls discovering these stories (or more of it, in Lucy's case). Like @LeahBergen said discovering Greek and Egyptian myths was the highlight of my small self's reading life 😁 6y
