Wit'ch Fire: The Banned and the Banished Book One | James Clemens
4 posts | 13 read | 5 to read
Long ago the Mages of Alasea, beset by a dark and implacable evil, made a last desperate stand to preserve some remnant of their once-beautiful land. Knowing their own destruction to be inevitable, the Mages gathered the last of their magic and stored it away against the need and peril of a distant time. In doing so the Mages gave the people of Alasea a future and a hope -- and damned themselves forever ... Now, five centuries after their destruction, a young girl, Elena, inherits the powers that the Mages had so carefully hidden from their enemy. But though the Mages are long dead their ancient foe is not -- and when the Dark Lord learns of Elena's power he turns all of his terrible strength against her. Desperate and alone, fleeing from disaster, escaping into darkness, Elena seeks out the allies and knowledge that can help her to master her bitter gifts and cast down the evil that shattered the land of Alasea ... 1. I frequently get dreams with messages meant for other people. Usually by or about the recently deceased. I can tell when This Dream Is Different. When my brother passed away, my grandfather‘s old clock sprung to life & rang for the first time in 15 years. It was a wind-up clock & hadn‘t been wound since his death. My grandmother looked up from the kitchen table & saw my dad come thru the door & say he‘d come to bury his son. 20 mins later 👇🏻

mrsmarch 👉🏻 the phone rang, it was my dad telling his mother that the baby had passed away & was a boy. My dad was in Colorado, his mother lives in Maine. My brother was eventually buried in the cemetery down the road from Grammy‘s house. 4y
mrsmarch 2. I‘m grateful for pumpkin everything and apple pies and autumn leaves! #thankfulthursday (edited) 4y
Cosmos_Moon Wow, that‘s amazing! That must have been quite an experience for your grandmother! I had a dream after my brother died.. he was 26, I was 23.. that we were walking through the town I lived in, near my apartment just talking and he was assuring me things would be okay. He was sorry he was gone. (edited) 4y

How sad is it that even this image gives me the queasies & puts me off my dinner?

1. Tagged book. The 1st part terrified teen me & it took me years to go back & read it, then I devoured the whole series. #likeyoudo
2. I watched Butterfly Effect w/my husband once. Never ever again.
3. Strange (ghostly) things happen in my family all the time. My mom had brain surgery my Jr year in HS but only as an adult do I REALLY understand how scary that was.

Geez & I thought some authors these days slaughtered their characters. The pacing is a bit off too, goes off talking about og'res and shapeshifters then back to the wit'ch. Adding apostrophes to names is annoying.
