This realistic fiction book is an amazing book for teaching students about lessons outside of academics. The story features a young boy named George who watches. He doesn‘t have many friends but he watches everything: cars, trucks, rain falling. He‘s known as the quiet boy until one day at lunch a girl starts to choke. George steps out of his position as watcher and turns into a hero. This book would be great for a dramatic re-enactment!

This book would align with UDL 9.3 as it can develop self reflection when reading. EL 36, says to ask higher level thinking responses which would require students to think deeper about this book and what they take away from it. (edited) 7y
Hervela.L Awe this book is so cute! This book would be nice for some of our kind of shy students. I must read this book. 7y
DrSpalding While I read your summary, I thought that this might be an excellent picture book to read aloud prior to a science lesson. Being an excellent observer is part of the scientists job. Good choice! 7y
