Smallest Part
Smallest Part | Amy Harmon

It was a big lie. The biggest lie she'd ever told. It reverberated through her head as she said it, ringing eerily, and the girl behind her eyes-the girl who knew the truth-screamed, and her scream echoed along with the lie. "Are you in love with Noah, Mercedes?" Cora asked. "I mean . . . I know you love him. You've been friends forever. We all have. But are you in love with him?" If it had been anyone else-anyone-Mercedes would have stuck out her chest, folded her skinny arms, and let her feelings be known. She would have claimed him. But it was Cora. Brave, beautiful, broken Cora, and Cora loved Noah too. So Mercedes lied. And with that lie, she lost him. With that lie, she sealed her fate. She was the best friend, the bridesmaid, the godmother, the glue. She was there for the good times and the bad, the ups and the downs, the biggest moments and the smallest parts. And she was there when it all came crashing down. This is the tale of the girl who didn't get the guy.

Book 107
I was eager to read The Smallest Part by Amy Harmon; the cover art intrigued me. It was an obvious disappointment from the beginning, and I probably shouldn't have read it. The characters were flat, and the writing was subpar. ⭐⭐

I‘ve enjoyed a couple of Harmon‘s recent releases, so I was excited to find this earlier title available through #KindleUnlimited for both audio and kindle! It makes for a surprising blend of genres- friendship, romance, and ghosts- all set in Salt Lake City. It‘s not my favorite of her books, but it‘s an engaging listen with some surprises to spice it up! A solid read/listen! #AudioColoring

TorieStorieS @Tanisha_A Thanks so much!! This one was done with crayola crayons! Always nostalgic to break those out! 3y

I was just having a conversation with my Mom tonight about never reading the back of a book. I feel like I will judge what that little excerpt says and decide to walk away from a book that could be a really good freaking book. This. Is. One. Of. Those. Books. This book may contain triggers for some, but as someone who has struggled with depression, anxiety and PTSD, this book right here, will make you float (in such a good way.)

Now that I watched the new episode of Survivor and the littlest minion is asleep, I can read. (With the NHL game on 😂)

Mercedes, Noah and Cora have been friends since they were little. When Cora ask Mercedes if she loves Noah she lies and says no. From there Noah and Cora build a life together but Cora suffers with depression.
I loathe love triangle BUT luckily this story didn‘t have that despite what the description says.
This wasn‘t your typical contemporary romance story and had some paranormal aspect to it which threw me off. I still enjoyed it.
