The Lemon Grove
The Lemon Grove | Helen Walsh
4 posts | 5 read | 5 to read
As recommended on BBC Radio 2 Book Club, a tense, sensuous and piercingly insightful story of sexual obsession. Each summer, Jenn and her husband Greg return to Deia, on Mallorca's dramatic west coast. This year the arrival of Emma, Jenn's stepdaughter, and her new boyfriend Nathan threatens to upset their equilibrium. Beautiful and reckless, Nathan stirs something unexpected in Jenn. As she is increasingly seduced by Nathan's youth and the promise of passion, the line between desire and obsession begins to blur. What follows is a highly-charged liaison that puts lives and relationships in jeopardy. For Jenn, after this summer, nothing can ever be the same.

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join in if you want!

#day2 #maybookflowers The #sunshine prompt made me think of holidaying on Mediterranean islands and these three are all about 'vacations from hell' (in varying degrees!) .... Love me some #richpeopleproblems for a little escapism! 😊👍

Cinfhen Thanks for sharing your favorite #richpeopleproblems with me...sometimes it's exactly what I'm looking for 😎love your sunny graphics ☀️💛☀️ 7y
Reviewsbylola You know I loved Siracusa and The Vacationers, so I take it I need to read Lemon Grove?! 7y
KarenUK @Reviewsbylola Same island setting as Vacationers I think, but much darker vibe (and steamy too!) ... 😉.. some really terrible decision making! (edited) 7y
Reviewsbylola Sounds amazing. 😍 7y

Bailedbailed

Jenn had serious psychopath tendencies and freaked me out. The writing didn't always make sense a d it felt like there were major holes in plot and writing overall. The ending didn't make sense either and I was lost throughout the whole book. I did like the setting though.

Jenn is basically a psychopath and it's freaking me out a bit, but I do like the setting
