If You Were A Kid During The American Revolution by Wil Mara and illustrated by Kelly Kennedy is a HF PB that give an overview of the experience of what it would be like growing up during the American Revolution. This PB would be a great RA to get a unit started on the American Revolution. ESOL: 9 Teach note-taking strategies: T-lists, time lines etc. UDL: 2.1 clarify vocabulary and symbols

MorganH Looks like a great book to pre-teach the American Revolution while putting into perspective what the students may feel like! 6y
KatherineBeckham This is cool, because students are more likely to relate to the story if they relate to the characters! I know that I did not like only hearing about a bunch of old men when I was learning history. It would have been cool for there to be kids my age in the stories I was hearing. 6y
DrSpalding You need to share this with the road to revolution grade 5 unit plan group in social studies @EveAstrouck 😀 6y
ChristinB I love the idea of this book. I defiantly want to read it! I feel like the best way to teach history to elementary school is through books! 6y
