The idea here is wonderful-gather up stories from around the world with strong women and girls together in one book. And some of the stories are fantastic! But why change Atalanta's ending? And why are so many of these stories centered around the prize of marrying a man? This feel like an early 2000s attempt to give girls space in a place where they have traditionally been rescued damsels. But we are further than that, and I wanted more from this.

Two on the left from the indie bookstore (I‘m such a sucker for these collections of strong women with beautiful illustrations), other three from BN‘s blowout. But they didn‘t have the one I wanted to get myself for my birthday 😪 and I don‘t know if I can justify buying it online. I‘m missing #5 in the Land of Stories series, too.

I‘m not supposed to be buying books before the move, but I can‘t stop!

Regi_C Have you read Rejected Princesses? 6y
ravenlee @Regi_C no, but it‘s on my list! 6y
Regi_C It's so good! He has another one about mothers out now, too 6y
