If there is anyone who‘s a Rube or a #dodo it‘s Jack Keefe .Published In 1916,Jack is trying to break in to the major leagues .He has talent but as letters to his friend Al illustrate,he cannot seem to recognize when he‘s being manipulated or cheated.A comical look at baseball in the teens.Lardner lived in Chicago reporting about the Cubs & White Sox often traveling with the teams by train.Ring was a drinking buddy of F.Scott #characterslikeAlice

#tarottakeover The Fool. Lardner was a reporter who covered the Cubs & White Sox starting in 1907. He outdid himself with this epistolary novel published in 1914 .Jack Keefe is a minor league pitcher that writes letters home to his friend Al.If there is a more naive, gullible rube in literature I‘d be surprised.Written with real baseball players in the text, I still find it so funny.Poor Jack is definitely a fool.Ring drank with F.Scott too!

Erinsuereads That ones definitely going on the list 6y
