This one was hilarious. Also creative worldbuilding. I'd like to read the next book.

A middle grade novel about a champion of the skating martial arts with some really excellent world building. A good read for kids with an interest in fantasy that really isn't like anything else out there. I mean skating? As a martial art? Amazing. I also liked how much growth Peasprout experienced throughout the story and the way it increased in complexity and seriousness by the end.

Asian Pacific American Heritage Month May be ending but I‘m still chugging along with all these great reads by Asian writers. This one is such great fun. It‘s martial arts-skating or wu liu (I‘m guessing it‘s 武溜) which the author made up - but wouldn‘t it be awesome to watch a kung fu-figure skating competition???

RealLifeReading In case you‘re wondering, that‘s homemade seafood horfun, a rice noodle dish with an eggy gravy, vegetables and seafood. Another popular version in Singapore is beef horfun. 5y

I finished 9 audiobooks this December and they were all pretty good but my fave would have to be Peasprout Chen - a surprising middle grade about martial arts, ice skating and relationships. #audiobooks

Great fun. So cinematic, and unlike anything else. What a great experience.
