Eh bien dansons maintenant !
Eh bien dansons maintenant ! | Karine Lambert
2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read

What‘s one 2017 book you‘ve read that you wish had got more attention?
I‘ll start — NOW LET‘S DANCE by Karin Lambert was a beautiful love story between two older, widowed people. It was translated by Anthea Bell and published only in the UK as far as I know, but you can get it on Book Depository!

Pickpick

This was a moving love story between two older, bereaved people. The writing is lovely. The English version is out in the U.K. this week -- for everywhere else, there's bookdepository.com.

Louise I'm thinking of getting this in both English and French plus the French audio for language practice. I'm guessing the vocabulary is fairly straightforward. Thanks for posting it! New project! 🤓✨ 7y
BookishClaire Great idea @Louise -- it's in the present tense which is definitely helpful! What level of french do you have? 7y
Louise @BookishClaire I used to be pretty fluent, but that was long ago. I'm very rusty, but it tends to come back to me when I'm around the language. I definitely need to brush up on the verb tenses! Present tense will make it much easier; but, of course, I wouldn't mind a little passé composé, at least! ? What about you? (edited) 7y
BookishClaire Oh cool @louise! Yes there's definitely at least some imperfect tense and probably some passé composé! I'm a native speaker of French and used to teach it too -- but English is my dominant language who I get lazy with reading in French!! 7y
Louise @BookishClaire Oh, how wonderful to be a native speaker of such a beautiful language! I often say a man could read me his grocery list in French, and I'd fall in love with him! 😻🇫🇷 7y
