EVERY GAME HAS RULES. HE'S ABOUT TO BREAK THEM . . . Since becoming a major league baseball player, I've learned a few hard lessons. Like never give out your home address on social media (sorry, Mom). Never shoot your mouth off without thinking . . . and never, ever let your personal life interfere with your game. But then I saw her - sitting alone behind the enemy dugout, watching me - and I just had to meet this girl. Now I know that Daisy Robinson has her secrets, but there's something about her that drives me crazy. Maybe it's her innocence, her absolutely amazing knowledge of baseball, or just the fact that she is so unbelievably beautiful. I have to take it slow. Prove to her that the rumors about me are just that - rumors. Daisy might be my ultimate lifetime win. . . if I don't get hit by the curveball that's coming my way.

BAILING AROUND 35%

The cheesy AF slang, the inconsistencies, and a boring execution are too much for me when I have a literal bingo board of other books waiting for me. Told from Ethan's POV, this 22 year old kid acts like this new infatuation is his to worry about like she hasn't been taking care of herself up until now. Frankly, I don't know if I could read through cheesy sex scenes either. @TheAromaofBooks at least it's of my shelf.

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @TheAromaofBooks Once this kid mentioned he was Boston's most eligible bachelor, I was out. Like dude, I don't care how good at baseball you are, I really doubt you're the best Boston has to offer. I mean Chris Evans presumably exists in this world. 🤣 4y

Rough start. I'm starting to wonder if the author has ever met men judging by the cringey exchange above. Also within 30 pages, we already have inconsistencies:

She's about a foot shorter than me. I like that.

(Later) I've never really been attracted to girls who are much shorter than me, because of the whole having to bend down to kiss them thing, but there's something special about Daisy.

Much more of this and I'll have to bail.

I got about half through and I'm bailing on the rest. I very much dislike the hero and, unfortunately, we only get his point of view. I don't feel like I've gotten to know the heroine at all. I'm pretty bored with the plot too.

I was up very late finishing my book. So before work I had to decide what to read next. I narrowed it down to a sports romance or a paranormal romance. Sports won. #currentlyreading #romantsy
