3 posts | 3 read | 1 to read
Join retired Amish newlyweds Emma and Lamar Miller in Florida for the winter as they lead another quilting class with a new group of unlikely students: Jennifer, a pregnant new mom; Mike, a charter boat owner; Erika, a wheelchair bound teen; Kim, a waitress; Noreen, a newly-retired widow, and BJ, an artist facing illness. When old friends visit from Indiana, will romance also become a subject of class discussions?

Pickpick

On my recent trip to Indiana I met and befriended an 18 year old Amish girl.

In keeping with the spirit of the Amish, I picked up this book.

It was sweet, and corny, and predictable but also comforting like an old quilt.

I have to give it a "pick" simply because of the timing in which it came into my life.

This is the third book in the series. Normally I love books by Wanda but this series had quite a few issues. It was highly predictable, felt just like the previous book, too many characters from the previous books made a few appearances. It seemed that too much focus was on certain characters and not enough on others. It seemed too preachy, more so than Wanda's other books. Only 2 out of 5 stars for me. #boutofbooks

I am currently multitasking making sure the bread machine works (hope the bread turns out) so I can sell it and reading this book for #boutofbooks today.
