Botany for Gardeners
Botany for Gardeners: Third Edition | Brian Capon
6 posts
A bestseller since its debut in 1990, this indispensable and handy reference has now been expanded and updated to include an appendix on plant taxonomy and a comprehensive index. Two dozen new photos and illustrations make this new edition even richer with information. Its convenient paperback format makes it easy to carry and access, whether you are in or out of the garden. An essential overview of the science behind plants for beginning and advanced gardeners alike.

Going with hubby tomorrow when he teaches the plant pathology class for the master gardener course in St. Lucie County, about an hour north. He asked me to pull this book and take it along to show the students. Pretty much everything I know about plants that a didn‘t pick up from him I learned from this book.

Well, my reading time is about to be curtailed from now until December. I start master gardener training classes next week. I missed the first class while we were away, and two were cancelled because of the hurricane. I'm looking forward to it, mostly to expand my knowledge base as a docent at the botanical garden. I just hope it doesn't interfere too much with my own reading.

Mimi28 Good luck and congrats 🎉🎊👍❤️📚🌸🌹🌷!!! 8y

Theresa How cool! The great thing about books is that they always wait patiently for us until we're ready for them. Good luck with your class!! 8y

#aprilbookshowers I've gone literal for #gardentitle, since I have a number of books about plants and gardening in our library. You would never suspect that this is an interest if you looked at our yard, however. I have a black thumb.

RealBooks4ever 😆😆😆 8y
ValerieAndBooks 😂!! Gardening is a fruitless (both literally and figuratively) endeavor at my house because of all the deer! 8y
AmandaL I am the same! I have a ton of books on gardening, and I kill everything with roots. 😂 8y
