New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak welcomes readers to the town of Silver Springs, where surprises wait around every corner! The search for her birth mother brought Cora Kelly to the New Horizons Boys Ranch. Getting a job there was easy enough, but confiding in Aiyana, the ranch's owner, that she's really her daughter? Cora's not sure she can do that, not unless she's confident the news will be welcomed. And once she gets to know Elijah TurnerAiyana's adopted son and ranch managerthat decision becomes even more difficult. Although Elijah can't deny his deep attraction to Cora, he's always struggled with trust. Anyone with his past would, and there's something about the ranch's newest employee that isn't exactly as it seems. But if the feelings she awakes in his guarded heart are any indication, she might be just what he's long been waiting for.

This is the first book I've read by Brenda Novak. I enjoyed it. Cora was adopted, and thru a PI, finds her Mom. Her Mom owns a school for troubled kids, so Cora gets a job there so she can secretly get to know her Mom. The relationship between Eli & Cora goes a little too fast but it is a Harlequin. I was surprised to finally learn why the Mom gave up Cora. The book ended quick but a great set up for book 2.

Just finished book one of the Silver Springs series. Typical romance. Some of the sentence structures were a little weird, but a quick read.

Another great audiobook by Brenda Novak! Finished in one sitting. I love having the option to listen to audiobooks at 3x the speed. 🎧

BeansPage Fast track!!! 5y
Andrew65 Wow! That is fast. I think the fastest I go to is 1.5 or 1.25. 5y
Clwojick @Andrew65 If it‘s on speaker I listen to it at 2x, but with my headphones in and all outside noise blocked out I prefer 3x. 👏🏻👏🏻 5y

I work in the adoption field, and I'm always a little leery of reading a book that has an adoption storyline. I can't enjoy the book if adoption is sensationalized or portrayed negatively. But Ms. Novak handled it beautifully, and I loved this book. Plus that gorgeous cover!

I think this is my first time reading this author. Having worked in the field for 20 years, storylines involving adoption always make me a little leery - I hate when the subject is sensationalized or portrayed negatively. But so far I‘m enjoying this book.

I enjoyed this book, I‘m eager to read more in this series. Good characters and an engaging storyline. Sexy without being super explicit so even romance lovers who don‘t want detailed descriptions would enjoy this.

It‘s so cold out, buried under a comforter in fuzzy socks with a hot drink and my feet are still like ice! So glad I took today off. I feel bad that both my kids and hub have to work today but I admit, it‘ll be nice to have the house to myself. It was a looong weekend. 😄😬

JoeStalksBeck It‘s -2 here. I think after it hit negative all cold feels the same 😂😂 6y
CocoReads Yes, I think you‘re right. And, while these temps aren‘t unheard of up here in the winter, they also aren‘t that common either. It‘ll make that 20 degrees later in the week feel positively tropical! 6y
emilyhaldi Sounds lovely ☺️ I‘m going to try not to leave the house!! ☕️🛋🛀🏼 6y

Finding Our Forever | Brenda Novak

“You think you‘re doing me a favor by staying away!”
“Essentially.”
“Well, you‘re taking a lot for granted, Mr. Turner. First of all, how do you know I‘m going to want you to love me?”
“Experience,” he said wryly. “I have yet to encounter the opposite problem.”
“You‘re in such high demand that you‘ve grown arrogant?”
“Failure hardly makes me arrogant. It does, however, make me want to avoid running into the same brick wall.”
