Men in Black meets Janet Evanovichs Stephanie Plum in the fourth urban fantasy novel in the series starring seer Makenna Fraser and her fellow agents at Supernatural Protection & Investigation. The agents of Supernatural Protection & Investigations (SPI) are paid to keep the peace. But thats not so easy when an endless evil threatens to tear that peace to pieces... A vampire gangsters nephew is abducted off his yacht by a bunch of low-rent Creatures from the Black Lagoon. A slew of banks are knocked over by what looks like the cast of Night of the Living Dead. All of this may seem like the movies, but, I promise you, its not. Im Makenna Fraser, seer for SPI, and I know the culprits arent wearing disguises or makeup. Theyre real. Deadly real. Especially their leaderan ancient shapeshifter who leaves a trail of chaos and blood in his wake. Now, hes taken my partner, Ianand his intentions arent pretty. The worst part? This is only the beginning... The beginning of the end of the human race.

Apparently I‘m behind on reviews again. Also forgot a pic so here‘s #DannyBoy stealing my new slippers.

Another good romp in the SPI Files series, this one has more of goblin love-interest Rake and less of partner Ian, who‘s the damsel in distress type this time. Some interesting developments in the ongoing storyline, plus mermaids and dragons. #52Books23 #startswithG

This book was fun to read, a lot of action and character development. I think a lot of it is recycled from her previous series, but it‘s still a fun read. 3.5/5 Stars

Creatures from the Black Lagoon, merfolk, a kraken, some dragons and a few gods show up in book 5 of this fast-paced lighter urban fantasy. We get to learn that there's more to Makenna's partner Ian Byrne than meets the eye. The world they exist in widens, characters deepen, but the banter remains. All in all it's a highly enjoyable read and something that could definitely be knocked out in an afternoon.

jpmcwisemorgan Well this series sounds right up my alley. Don't mind my grumbling about finding yet another series. 😉 7y
