The Collected Writings of Zelda Fitzgerald
The Collected Writings of Zelda Fitzgerald | Zelda Fitzgerald, Matthew Joseph Bruccoli
4 posts | 3 read | 1 reading | 9 to read
Zelda Sayre Fitzgerald has long been perceived as the tragic other half of the Scott and Zelda legend. Born in Montgomery, Alabama, this southern belle turned flapper was talented in dance, painting and writing but lived in the shadow of her husband's success. Her writing can be experienced on its own terms in Matthew Bruccoli's meticulously edited Zelda Fitzgerald: The Collected Writings.

#Boredom immediately brought to mind "Being Boring" by the Pet Shop Boys. I recalled that it was inspired by a quote by Zelda Fitzgerald & when I was looking for it, I found this article about the song & the quote that inspired it: http://www.geowayne.com/newDesign/behaviour/boring.htm "...she refused to be bored chiefly because she wasn't boring. She was conscious that the things she did were the things she had always wanted to do." #QuotsyJuly18

TK-421 "As noted above, the title and spirit of this song were inspired by a couple of lines from a 1922 magazine article titled "Eulogy on the Flapper" written by Zelda Fitzgerald (1900-1948), wife of... author F. Scott Fitzgerald." - annotation from Wayne Studer article (link above) (edited) 6y
