What an excellent book on bees and their impact on the environment and humans (as well as the many lessons us humans can learn from them). The author does a brilliant job weaving in science and facts with life stories about beekeeping. There is so much we can learn from bees; communication, cooperation, the act of being selfless and synergy among just a few - I could go on and on.

About half way through and absolutely loving this book. Such a great book about bees and the massive impact they have on the environment and humans. Interesting that what we see happening in bees could be a prediction for what happens to humans. I've now read about synergy of chemicals and such in bees and how important bees are to our food sources - all in relation to colony collapse disorder. And - Pumpkin Chai is back!!

I felt like reading a book on bees and this was the one our library had. I'm glad I picked it up because I'm really enjoying it so far.

It seems to be more of a high level overview on bees and the environment as well as human comparison. I've read about honey and killer bees so far. I knew the honey business was sketchy - I didn't realize how much so. I'll definitely have to look into the subject more. Interesting stories.

Chapter 10: Conversing is a good one. Some really great and relevant parallels between bees and humans and the importance of good communication and true dialogue.
