Very cool story, trippy art. This could be categorized YA, or maybe even middle grade, which took it down a notch for me, because it would have been better a little more mature. Some of the humor was very contrived. Things like one guy is always hungry, and even when his life is threatened, he's just thinking of food. However, an excellent concept and a good read.

Johanna414 This one is really popular with my middle schoolers! 2y

It's a classic, oft told tale/formula for a reason. Mankind gets too techie, bad aliens come, humans survive the apocalypse, work to preserve their heritage, humans ultimately saved by good robot sacrifice. It bears repeating for everything it should make us reevaluate and treasure in the present day.

A stunningly illustrated graphic novel about technology and an alien invasion as well as one truly incredible mechanical pony. In a world where alien invaders called "Pipers" (as in the Pied Piper story) eat all forms of technology, a group of kids and their moving town try to outrun the aliens before they can destroy the last of the worlds tech.

Dystopian children's graphic novel about a world that has been taken over by machinery-eating aliens. Strata' family tries to salvage any metal they find and save it from the aliens. When she finds a robotic horse, it sets off a sequence of events that will change the world. Beautiful three-color art (black, blue, and yellow). 🖤💙💛

I liked this graphic novel & its art. The black & white with only yellow for the pony & the pipers was really cool. However, the dialogue was so tiny! I feel really old because it was hard for me to read!

I love Nathan Hale's style and this is a fun fantasy graphic novel. Graphic novels can be tricky to read as arcs, because sometimes the final art is not done, and they're in black-and-white. I really like how Nathan played around with this in the actual art! He put "OK really need to finish this," or "hey it's black-and-white so you can color it! " The story takes place in a time where aliens are taking all the technology from us. MG.

alanacristin Ohh, talk to me about getting arcs of graphic novels 😍😍😍 7y
Daisydo That cover is beautiful! They are bugs, right? 7y
kathyellendavis @alanacristin I'm a big graphic novel reader, so when they come in at the bookstore I work at, they basically get handed to me! 7y
kathyellendavis @Daisydo they are bug/aliens? But mostly bugs I think? 7y
