Tagged is a good overview of US politics, and Timothy Snyder's The Road to Unfreedom is a good (scary) look at Russian politics and how they influence politics in the US and Europe. On my TBR is Ghosts of Spain by Giles Tremlett, so hopefully I'll learn a bit more about Spain's history and politics soon, too.

pickExcellent nonpartisan overview of many hot issues in American politics, but I'm not sure what the point of the 2020 edition was. Comparing the 1st, 3rd, and 4th editions, there's really not much new in this newest one. Nothing past 2012, NAFTA is still written about in the present tense, 2000 and 2004 are listed as contentious elections but nothing about 2016, and no mention of executive overreach post-G. W. Bush. Needs updating.
Audiopruning! After 2.5 years in this house and bolstered by my success cutting my son's hair yesterday, I finally worked up the courage to prune our seriously overgrown hibiscus shrubs. Luckily I was able to leave several buds. Now to hope the winter rains help them fill out a bit.
While working, I listened to the military, health care, and energy sections of the tagged book.
