The Flying Classroom
The Flying Classroom: A Novel for Children | Erich Kästner
3 posts | 4 read
It's Christmas term at the Johann Sigismund School, which means plenty of festive fun and excitement for Martin, Matthias, Johnny, Sebastian and Uli, including a Flying Classroom, rescuing their friend Rudi Kreuzkamm from his kidnap, a parachute descent, and a long overdue family reunion.

Perfect for Christmas. Some moralizing typical for the ‘30s. But enjoyable and nostalgic

I'm currently reading my mums favourite childhood book. It's old, it has stains, it almost falls apart and it's absolutly perfect. ðŸ˜

From the introduction to this German children's book from 1935:
"Remember what I tell you: courage without intelligence doesn't amount to anything, and intelligence without courage is no good either."

Applicable then and now. Prescient.
