A first entry in a planned trilogy tracing the rise and fall of the famous Hun finds the Roman Empire of the early fifth century placing its fate in the hands of the Master-General Aetius when the ruthless leader of a barbarous horse-warrior race begins attacking border tribes. Original.

Pickpick

11/12 📚 Easy read and interesting, want to know what happens in the rest of the trilogy. Builds the character of Attila well, but *something* is missing, and he never fully connects. ⭐️ 7/10

If I understand #bildungsroman correctly then this first book in the trilogy fits the bill. Young Attila was a hostage of Rome to ensure peace with his people but he escapes and tries to find his way home in a harsh time and landscape. I've not yet read the next two books. #feistyfeb

This Attila trilogy is for #titlewithapropernoun #readjanuary. I've read the first volume and it is very good. I need to read the next two. Just lots of books on the tbr list ahead of them.
