A fresh new jacket design brings this classic self-help guide up to date for a contemporary readership. This book was ahead of it‘s time. Originally released in 1990, there are elements and concepts that were revelatory to me and that are also very relevant to me today, in 2022.
I learnt a lot about women‘s anger and the effects of the de-selfing that we do in small ways, every day.
It is a new way for me to think about anger and the steps I can take to change the patterns that I‘m participating in.

What a great start! Page 16: ‘Many of our problems with anger occur when we choose between having a relationship and having a self. This book is about having both.‘

"Qwhen we use our anger to make statements about the self, we assume a position of strength, because no one can argue with our own thoughts and feelings." - Harriet Lerner

Excellent book about using anger to identify where we have de-selfed and how to change our behavior to respect our own needs and wants. Probably needs another listen, it‘s short enough to go through several times to pick up key behaviors.
