This was such a perfect follow-up read to Reynolds and Griffin‘s Ain‘t Burned All the Bright, which I enjoyed last month in no small part because of how the endnotes described the long friendship between the two creators. This was basically more of that, so yay! I loved the experience of reading this one with 👀 and 👂 simultaneously - so many cool visuals, and both Jasons have lovely voices! #AuthorAMonth

Stunning. I think it must take even more as a poet, as an artist, to direct your efforts to focus on your own process, to try to demonstrate the inner work to the reader/viewer?

I am greedy for more collaborations between this poet and artist. As with Ain't Burned All The Bright, the poetry and art will make you stop and think, and each is beautiful in its way. This is a memoir as well as a collection of poetry and art. The introductory story actually contains all the poem titles. 🤯 I love that the back cover is updated photos of these two friends from current day (originally published 2009).
