To her shock, she learns that Nick s mother, Cora, is not dead as he always claimed rather, she is living as a recluse in the family s gloomy nineteenth-century mansion. Desperate to understand why her husband lied to her for so many years, Mackenzie accepts Cora s invitation to stay as her guest. As the women come together in the same house, their stories entwine, each driven by an agenda. Pickpick

Hooked from start to finish. Just when you think you've got it figured out, it would throw you in a twist! The characters were so well thought out and kept the intrigue going. The protagonist, Mackenzie, was so great in her normalcy - making her easy to identify with. The antagonist, Cora, was extremely frightening making herself easy to despise. The suspense is overwhelming! Great thriller.

James Sounds amazing! 7y
