5 posts | 8 read | 1 reading | 6 to read
An unsettling psychological thriller that unearths shocking secrets and explores broken relationships. Perfect for fans of Gillian Flynn, Mark Edwards, and Paula Hawkins. A shadow follows Sophie. Watching. Waiting. Her instinct tells her that it's someone she knows. But who? The man she met internet dating? The nurse caring for her ill mother? Or is her mother faking her illness? The only thing she knows is that she can't trust anyone. Sophie must delve into a dark history to reveal her stalker. But there are some stories that should never be told... "So many interesting characters that I ended up suspecting them all, but then the story twists and you're like . . . what?!! Loved it." -- Shalini Boland, author of The Girl from the Sea

I finished this about a couple months ago, but forgot to put a review on here.

I really liked how the author made you feel the stresses of being a caretaker and the effects it can have on you mentally. As that is the case with the story's main protagonist, Sophie Howland, whom has to take care of her elderly (Mum). It is revealed early in the book that Sophie's mom has early onset Alzheimer's. Sophie also has to deal with her mom's... (cont.) 👇

Overall, I thought this was a really good book with a little mystery added as well.

Sophie is taking care of her mother who has early onset Alzheimer‘s that is progressing rapidly. In the midst of taking care of her mother she feels a like someone is stalking her, shadowing her.

This was a fast paced story. I don‘t know how Sophia dealt with a mother who was verbally and mentally abusive before she got sick. I figured out what was going on half way through the book but that didn‘t stop me from being intrigued.

I enjoyed this because it wasn't at all what I expected from the beginning. It has a lot of different plot points but really builds into becoming a thriller with twists. I have to say I didn't see any of it coming the way it happened and it was not predictable at all. There were parts that were a bit confusing, but this is a good suspense book for people who like this genre!
