After Joe Pike saves a man's life, the man's family seems oddly resentful. Maybe because they're not who they seem to be-including the seductive Dru. But it's more than a charade-it's a trap. And Pike's already been hooked...

A solid entry in the series. Not my favorite, but I do like how these latest stories are developing Pike.

Bk14 in Elvis Cole/Joe Pike and I'm one book away from finishing the books in the series that I have, the last two books(The Promise & The Wanted) I don't have copies of yet. When my #nobookbuyjuly is over, if I can hold out that long! This was a decent book, not one of my favourites but it was still good. Pike intervenes in an assault and ends up protecting the people from more than he bargained for. Only to find out she's lied from the start.

Nebklvr I really like this series! 7y

Bk14 is next in the Elvis Cole/Joe Pike series, this one on my ereader because that pesky book thief has been at my shelves again. It's been a couple of years since I last read this series and there is 5 books missing from the set. Can't stand book thieves!! Pike offers to help Dru Rayne & her uncle after seeing them assaulted. But they've got secrets, enemies they've brought with them from New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
