so-soNow that I ended, this one leaves me puzzled. I‘m not sure what it wants to be or what kind of story it wants to tell. Might be my expectations were wrong but there‘s hardly nothing solid about how Heiko landed in the “scene”. Some side stories (the tiger 🐯) are exaggerated and if I subtract the “selling” hooligan-element, I can‘t say what exactly I will remember. Only Heikos refusal to accept that the world keeps turning and that people change.

It‘s not quite like it was years ago with “Dexter” – but similar.
(I mean, come on, raise your hand if you would deliberately pass your time with someone who‘s a proud Hooligan. I wouldn‘t want to – and if that makes me prejudiced, then: be it. 🤷🏽♀️)
Wanted to read this since I knew what topic it is about. And then it made it on the shortlist of the 2016 „Deutscher Buchpreis“ (🇬🇧 “German Book Prize”).
Took me until now, 4 years later, to get hold on a copy. But to be honest I really don‘t know how long my library has it in stock.
pickMir gefällt der Schreibstil des Autoren sehr gut, die Dialoge sind größtenteils im hannöverschen Slang gehalten, was die Authentizität der Story noch einmal anhebt. Keine Frage handelt es sich hier um ein meisterliches Erstlingswerk, das brillant ausgefeilt ist und in dem die Charaktere hervorragend durchdacht und besetzt sind. Meine Wertung, ganz klar fünf von fünf möglichen Sternen und eine absolute Leseempfehlung meinerseits.
