I got a kick out of the fact that this one seemed to be inspired by Nancy Drew (and not Silence of the Lambs as I had feared.) The fictional Nancy-esque series featured in this book even had a main character that got knocked out all the time 🤣

My 2nd May #SeasonalCozies pick was just ok, but at least I finished reading it. I'm not even sure what I didn't like about it, but it didn't seem to be as well thought out as other cozy mysteries I've read. I understand that there needed to be several characters in order for there to be confusion over who committed the crime, but I feel like some of them were just hastily added to the story.

This one shares some things with Ms Ryan‘s other books: a group of women having to be resourceful against the backdrop of WW2. In this case, when part of the library is destroyed after bombing by Nazis, they take the surviving shelves and books underground and set up there. The characters are plucky and likable, and they find an inner strength while dealing with awful circumstances. My favorite is still The Kitchen Front, but I loved this one too.
Another great addition in the series, and a perfect palate cleansing read. Charlie and Diesel are entangled in a diary and secrets that date back to the American Civil War. The bonus short story, in which Charlie finds Diesel at the library, reminded me of my real life rescue of Zeke from my car engine at the library so long ago. I made #Zeke model for the picture! #CatsOfLitsy
I almost feel bad because this was my choice for my library‘s book club. The story was intriguing, the way it was presented. Bouncing between 3 perspectives and then two timelines was borderline too much to keep track of. Let alone the present story with Sunny and Kit‘s past story. It just fell flat for me. I did like the aspect of working at a library and being a part of that community. Did not click for me at all.
I‘m trying so hard to meander thru this book to drag it out, but it‘s so hard! I ADORE this author‘s books and am always so impatient while waiting for each of her new books to come out. Her stories tend to feature women being resourceful during WWII, when things were being rationed or banned, but she is always able to write such humor, light, and levity into the stories so they don‘t feel heavy at all. Really loving this so far #currentlyreading
Third in the Mobile Library Mystery series. This one was a bit slower than the last two, I thought, but I'm glad of the way it ended. I've been waiting for a particular thing, and it finally happened. Let's see how Israel goes forward from here. #29-2024
I already bailed on my May #seasonalcozies pick, so I'm replacing it with May Day. Thanks @CogsOfEncouragement for the recommendation!
