I liked the mysteries/ reasons for the murders and I loved the setting- on a luxury train through the middle of Australia. But I've already grown tired of the breaking of the 4th wall and the conceit that narrator is talking us through their writing process as the book progresses. Mostly a pick but I'm going to try to avoid this type of plot for a while.

First off, this book is hilarious. It‘s very satirical and pokes a lot of fun at own society. Parts of the story were reminiscent of the pandemic and how some political leaders and society handled it. I found it very clever. One of the funniest parts of the book was ogre speak, which was essentially really foul and rude language.

I didn‘t particularly like the characters in this short book, but it was a fairly light listen that did give me a few laughs.

59/150 This is the 2nd adventure of the band of misfits and losers known as Phule's Company, although they have become a more cohesive team. Upper command still wants to punish Captain Jester, so he and his team are sent to protect a space station casino from an organized crime takeover. This book isn't laugh out loud funny, but it will make the reader smile at the antics and misadventures of Phule's Company. 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I got all my steps in today ( lots of laughing out loud to AA‘s descriptions of all the prairie things ) and our brand new flag hung up ( ours got stolen on the last day of June last year)

Well worn chestnut that needs to be retired. Not a lot of nuance in assuming popular automatically equals dreck.
