So far three peas, seven chard, and 4 tomatoes have sprouted! The mint is going to be longer. I've also potted my Moroccan mint. And my propagated tomato is doing well. #gardening

1. I was out and about on Main Street Saturday and saw some lovely peonies in front of a church.
2. That afternoon I went to a community band concert that wasn‘t only free but also included refreshments at intermission.
3. I became a patron of my favorite podcast and got a nice personal message from one of the cohosts.
4. Everyone I voted for in the primary won. Now the real fun starts!
5. New stickers for my BuJo.

Starting my garden for the year. Tomatoes are in pots and I'm getting my seeds ready. Trying propagating the tomato plant, hopefully it works! #gardening #whatsnewwednesday

jessinikkip Nice! I keep meaning to get a cherry tomato plant and try growing my own. Is it hard? 2w
thebacklistbook @jessinikkip tomatoes are the easiest thing to grow. They typically need 6 to 8 hours sunlight full sun to dappled is good. Starting from a mature plant is probably easiest for a first time. Small tomatoes are usually indeterminate though so you will need a tall trellis or cage to support them or do them from a hanging basket. Check the label on the plant. If they are determinate they just need a pot and maybe a stake. 2w
thebacklistbook @jessinikkip personally I recommend getting a fruit and veggies blend for soil. And a shaker of fruit and veggie feed. Helps improve yield. 2w
jessinikkip Thanks! I will give them a try then 👍🏾 2w

Really interesting so far. Kinda terrifying, but also...kinda soothing at the same time?

Lemon basil is having none of your nonsense, missy!

Lynnsoprano I never heard of this! Of course, growing anything is different here in South Florida, and I haven‘t been able to grow any basil the past few years because a fungus kills it. 1mo
Aimeesue @Lynnsoprano Ick, fungus! Florida‘s tough. My mom lives in JAX and she either can‘t get the veggies to grow or they get all eaten up by critters, bugs or slugs. Every year, it seems. 1mo
mabell I‘ve heard that about all basil! Not a fan of transplanting 1mo

I bought a copy of this book when it came out in 1992-in a bookstore! Without computer assistance!- then purged it at some point among our many military moves. This year‘s herbs springing up made me think of it, so obviously I had to buy another copy. 😄

Tamra Ahhhhhhhhh green! 💚 I‘ve made the same mistake multiple times. 😆 1mo

This was a fun gardening journey. I enjoyed it even if my garden only consists of a couple of raised beds and some pots.

SaceReads Stacked! I like to have plants but I do not consider myself a gardener. I don‘t have a lot of success unless it‘s an incredibly hardy plant that thrives on neglect. 1mo

Larkken As someone who is very bad at growing tomatoes, that book looks interesting! 1mo
