Pride and Prejudice | Jane Austen

I'm doing an A to Z book challenge on my Instagram and this is A day! I chose my Jane Austen collection, including a well-loved Bantam Classics edition of Pride and Prejudice. Even though Pride and Prejudice is my go-to when I'm sad book, Persuasion is my favorite Austen story.

My mom volunteers at the local library bookstore and she pulls books for me pretty much weekly (thanks mom!). Today's finds include a series of stories about living in East LA and Carrie Fisher's first memoir.

Pickpick

The last book I read in 2016:
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black, a beautifully written, poignantly gruesome (that's something I never thought I'd say) vampire novel. I'm glad I ended my year with something I enjoyed so much.
And in the background, a genres flowchart poster my mom gave me. Here's to a great year of reading ahead! ✨

dll I'll have to give this a read! 7y

Recent purchases. Started Tell Me Something Real, didn't love it, haven't had time to read further. Might be one of those that will grow on me.

Station Eleven: A novel | Emily St. John Mandel
Pickpick

Initially I was a bit put off by the premise of this novel (post-apocalyptic pandemics aren't really my thing) but the prose is beautiful, the characters are well-crafted, the backdrop is Shakespeare, and the story swept me away. Thanks for the rec, Mom!
