The Talented Mr. Ripley | Patricia Highsmith
post image
Pickpick

Ripley is a bit of a head case isn't he? He really only gets away with things due to the incompetence or lack of caring from others. Highsmith is terrific author and the added bonus of this little treasure is how she makes you want to travel to Italy and escape the everyday like Dickie, Marie and Tom have done. I loved this book.

The most beautiful library on the world. Double Bay Library, Sydney, Australia. It has a slippery slide between levels 1 and 2 for the kids to use between floors! It's magnificent and we are so lucky to have it. #doublebaylibrary #libraryporn

Something Fresh | P G Wodehouse

Sometimes on a rainy day you just need the library and some classic comedy. Wodehouse is as hilarious as ever, and I always enjoy a quick visit to Blandings to see The Empress.

I really wanted to love this. It's sweet and lovely, but has no X factor to it. The characters are all lovely, but ultimately forgettable. 6/10 from me.

In May this year I was lucky enough to travel from Venice to London on the Venice-Simplon Orient Express for work. Yes, for work! The most famous train in the world did not disappoint. As there were twelve of us, the amazing bartender even made us a cocktail called 'The Guilty Twelve'. Amazing.

What a beautiful little book! When 'travel writing' becomes poetry and the past is reimagined. Lyrical, evocative and utterly gorgeous. One to devour in one sitting or to dip into when the fancy takes you.

Utterly bonkers in the best way. It took me a moment to get into the swing of the book and the mad Irish lilt, but a highly enjoyable way to spend some time with John Lennon.

RealLifeReading Love your photo! 8y

Diary of a Mad Diva | Joan Rivers

Part of my 'rainy day' bundle from the stunning new library at Double Bay in Sydney. Joan Rivers is as irreverent, self loathing, toxic, brutal, offensive and absolutely hilarious in this commentary about one of the last years of her life. No one comes through unscathed. Diva or demented?
