Couldn't finish it. Ayn Rand's philosophies in the objectivist school of thought are interesting (read: radical), but this book was so convoluted, it was trying way too hard to hit the reader over the head with these concepts. Gave it to my bf, and he swore by it. He's now my ex (for good reason.)

Not at all what I expected from Miranda July. The depiction of the protagonist makes her seem like a sociopath, and the other female lead is blatantly objectified and is nowhere near a fully-realized person. Gratuitous sex imagery. Overall, this book creeped me the HELL out, which is hard to do.

While reading, there were some parts I found relatable (likely because we're so close in age and have similar interests), but so much of her story was steeped in being so flippant about her privileges, most notably her family's wealth, that it made it so hard at times to connect with her.

This is a collection of her short stories and poetry. Hands down one of my favorite poets, she is so witty and her humor is so on point. "Big Blonde" is my favorite short story.

This was a great read that went over, in exhaustive detail, how the imaginative mind works and segues into topics like creative companies and innovators. I would recommend this book to anyone experiencing creative burnout. (I believe it's out of print, I got my copy at the local library.)

This book helped me through a very difficult breakup. Her poetry is exquisite, I would recommend to all of my girl friends. Never forget that you are enough and you don't need a significant other to feel complete or loved.
