I read this book after I saw the author speak. He was a phenomenal speaker, with a story about using your life to make a difference that brought me to tears. This book was amazing! It showed an upbringing I had never imagined, and showed how seemingly little thing can have consequences later on....

I could NOT put this book down! So good and so bad. So sad and yet so sweet. It really took me back to that time period. The excitement of the World's Fair. All the behind-the-scenes work and preparation... And the people who prey on the naive....

I liked this book. It's not a quick, breezy read though. It's more of scientist's view of the perfume industry. Fascinating marketing insights. The ending seemed rather anticlimactic, I appreciated much more of tidbits of great info spread throughout the book.

I loved this book! Truly a behind-the-curtains view of fashion and how it has changed. And not in a good way.
