Perfect for a coffee table or to keep in your backpack to chuck at ableist pricks when you‘ve had enough of their bs

Mehso-so

This book is a bit on the basic end, which makes some the advice vague. However, I found the way it was structured was particularly helpful when I become overwhelmed by all of the different things I wanted to do. It also got me thinking kf each topic that I could reflect and ask myself if I needed more specific guidance or if I felt confident in that topic

Creepy Cat Vol. 1 | Cotton Valent
Pickpick

One of the best examples of physical comedy in comics I‘ve ever seen!

Quite a bit of overlap on topics between this book and the podcast, but the art is a wonderful addition.

I have the 2nd edition, and some of the page numbers referenced weren‘t updated from the 1st edition, and are incorrect. That‘s my only nitpick!

A good guide especially for newer cat owners who didn‘t grow up with a pet cat. It‘s all fairly general and simplified, which makes it easy to flip to a page and see what you could improve. I appreciate that the author takes the time to mention the health hazards of letting cats wander outside unsupervised.

Since this is general, maybe look elsewhere if you‘re dealing with a specific problem

The illusion of life: Disney animation | Frank Thomas, Ollie Johnston
Panpan

If you‘re expecting technical animation insights à la Richard Willams‘s book, you‘re going to be disappointed. Illusion of Life is more of a history of Disney Animation Studios in LA, from two of the Nine Old Men. As such it comes from a mostly positive perspective on the studio and Walt himself, not really mentioning the anti-union bit. Perhaps a good supplement to film history, but certainly a biased look. Took me 5 years to read cover-to-cover

Gnomes | Wil Huygen, Rien Poortvliet

The watercolors are lovely! Reading through this made me yearn for these little creatures to be real i such a profound way. I grew up in a culture devoid of forest spirits and fae-like beings. Heck I only recently learned tales of tomte/ tontu/ nisse. I loved stepping into this world, I only wish I could spend more time there.

Incredibly cute and a nice break from the stress of the last volume! Loved it! A cozy book for a rainy day
