so-soI give this book a rating of 2/5. As a Canadian living in the GTA, I was super intrigued by this novel. However, this story could have been told in half the pages. Getting through the first part of the book felt tedious and only nearing the end could I not put my book down.
So many interesting themes, which have unfortunately been drowned out by long and uninteresting writing.
so-soThis book was beautifully written and a few poems stuck with me. However, descriptive literature it‘s just not my cup of tea. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy descriptions of nature.

Frankl discusses his experience in concentration camps during the Holocaust and his observations of prisoners‘ fights to find individual purpose in their sufferings. After reading through Mary Oliver‘s “Devotions,” I was struck at how beautiful this poem is. I recently lost my dog, Stella, just over a month ago. I sometimes dream of her at night, and although the thoughts may not be true, they certainly are real to me.
Almost done reading this book - it took a while to get started but it‘s getting more interesting!
