I wasn‘t overly sure of this book when I first started; it didn‘t seem to have a lot of depth and really dropped you right into the hot coals of Nora Seed‘s life. But after a week of passing it by, I picked it back up and was greatly rewarded for it. Matt Haig‘s understanding of the anguish/doubt that life brings really grabbed my attention when the storyline is reveled. Great writing, honest thoughts and beautiful story. 10/10 add it to the shelf

What a clever read…I enjoyed this immensely, all the way through. Great twist on the original Sherlock theme with plenty of differences to enjoy. All the witty attitude and intelligence you‘d expect to see, with great characters to fall in love with. I finished this book in a couple days and tore through the next 2 of the series within a week. Excellent, highly recommend.

Wicked Saints: A Novel | Emily A. Duncan

Very invested in the beginning, set up for an interesting storyline and character abilities but then became confusing towards the end. Powers and story actions were left unexplained and began to feel rushed, even character interactions. Might pick up the remainder of the series one day just to finish it out but not all that interested in continuing for now.

Dune | Frank Herbert

Top 10 book for Sci-fi readers here, but only if you‘re not daunted by the immensity of the series. Frank Herbert created an incredible world-build to rival that of Sanderson with intelligent craftsmanship and a style of timeline I found very new and effective. I can tell the remainder of the series has a lot to offer.

Wowwowwoww, this book almost hit the top ten book shelf, wonderful story writing with great character development. Had me reminiscing some of my favorite parts of The KingKiller Chronicles series but with it‘s own unique style. Started this series while waiting for Babel to release, but now looking forward to continuing this series in book 2!

Never Let Me Go | Kazuo Ishiguro

Incredible writing that envisioned a world not so different from our own, this book took my breathe away with it‘s terrible beauty. I went in without knowing the storyline and was soul-shocked by the end. I look forward to reading another of this authors books, Klara and the Sun, next.

The Thief (The Queen's Thief, #1) | Megan Whalen Turner

I get it, it was supposed to be clever…a twisty little novel to leave you pleasantly surprised at the end. Besides being obvious by a few chapters in, the writing was mid-tier and left much to be desired. Useful as a quick read between novels, I won‘t be picking up the remainder of the series.
