Mehso-so

I'm the odd one out, because everyone else is in love with the book, but I found it very meh.
I didn't really connect with the charakters or the mystery.
I however really loved the writing style since the author wrote a rather amthospheric novel. It felt like your walking with Darren in this small village in East Texan.
This book was not my cup of tea, but I would read the author again.

Pickpick

Nahri is an con artist trying to make in eighteenth centrury Cairo. She accidentally summons a djinn while performing a exorcism and here her problems are starting.
This is the intriguing premise of 'City of Brass' and I have to say it delivers on it. The worldbuilding is lush and in the cities (Cario & Daevabad) you feel the people around you. The characters have depth and an agenda. This book is a winner. Pick it up. 😊
